The town of River Creek, located north of Mississippi and west of Arkansas. The once the home of 4,000 residents and the famous River Creek College is now empty. The sounds of birds singing in the distance, the town was under siege by the military and State troopers, the residents dead or infected by the virus which tore though the town like a twister. The town was under siege, no one could leave or enter the town of River Creek, the mile radius zone around the town and the helicopters patrolling around town would stop anybody from leaving or entering the town of River Creek.
The officer in charge of Biohazard Operations in River Creek was Colonel Craig Harris. Craig Harris served with the United States Rangers and the Marine Corp in Vietnam and Panama, in which he was awarded with the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Harris was raised in River Creek back in the 1930’s; his family still lived in the town, along with is daughter and grandson, Jacqueline Dexter and her son Harold.
Harris had strict orders not to let anybody in or out of the town, until the Hazmat team had arrived. The Hazmat team would then try and help anybody in the town as quick as possible.
Harris and his team had been stationed at the makeshift base on the outskirts of River Creek, a young soldier walked into the tent.
“Sir, I have some news about River Creek and your family, you might want to sit down”. The young soldier was Corporal Hayden Jenkins, who only just finished military academy.
Harris grabs a seat and a cup of coffee at the same time; he has been awake for 42 hours since the outbreak and relies on coffee to keep him awake.
“Your grandson has sent a message though the Sheriff's radio”
“What was the message Corporal” Harris replied.
“He said something about a college and needs medical supplies, he also said that he’s okay and Jacqueline is okay”.
“Thanks, Jenkins. Only good news I’ve heard all day. Tell Captain Taylor to send an airdrop over the town centre with medical supplies”.
“Yes Sir” Jenkins salutes Harris and walks out of the tent.
“Jenkins” Harris Shouts
“Yes” Jenkins replies.
“Can you get some more coffee and a pack of cigarettes?” Harris asks.
“Sure thing sir, anything else sir” Jenkins replies
“Yes. Tell Taylor to cover for me. I’m going off for forty winks”.
Harris walks out of the tent with Jenkins, looks up at the sky and notices the amount
of helicopters in the sky. Most of them are military, dropping troops and supplies off and others are the local film and TV Companies, filming the town from above.
The local “News 24” crew were waiting outside for an interview with Captain Taylor.
