• April ’24 Monthly Update

A month that would usually be Star Wars Month. This year not. Last year was a sort of Star Wars Month, as there were a few things I wanted to feature that weren’t Star Wars related. And it would have been my first Star Wars Celebration (had my asthma not blocked such from happening). This year, not even a half-Month is happening.

For starters, there’s no Celebration happening this month. Or even this year. Now, it’s true that I’ve done a Star Wars Month when a Celebration hasn’t taken place before. But this year there’s going to be a lot of Star Wars content across the rest of the year, too. As such, I’m not doing the event this year. So, what is planned for this month?

Honestly, not a lot. At least that I’ve got planned. The Sand Land game is releasing at the end of the month, which I’m interested in. The demo provided a nice look at its combat and exploration, which has furthered the excitement I’ve had for it since it’s first announcement. I’ve not had any experience with this series before, so this will be the perfect way of jumping in. Or it would be, if a series on Disney+ didn’t exist.

Yes, along with the game, a series has been in the works. From what I’ve read about it, this first season is mostly repackaging a film from a few years ago, with some linking towards the future. Especially with its fully new ending episode. I’ll likely have some thoughts on that first season so that the experiences article on the game can mostly focus on the gameplay.

For other things, there’s likely going to be the first preview for Alternate Halesowen and Beyond 4. The first chapter of this new novel will give Daniel’s perspective of the final story from The Future Adventures of Halesowen. That final story revealed exactly what Stanley had been up to after escaping to the UK, with just one single sentence. Plutes has returned. This fourth novel of the series will explore exactly what that means.

Elsewhere, I’m expecting a few events about games, and a few release dates for some indie games. If any fall in this month, especially Little Kitty, Big City, then I’ll be offering up some experiences of them. And who knows? With the Spring sales currently or soon to be beginning, there’s the potential for other experiences to be shared.
