  • June 2026 Monthly Update

The new releases of May that I’ve been interested in have all been covered, with not much to be found for June. So far, there’s the Star Fox 64 remake. That’s pretty much it. I’m certain that more will be coming, but even if not, Star Fox is still going to be a great one to talk about. I loved it back with the 3DS version, so it’s certain I’ll love it on the Switch 2. Fully remade with a new visual style, it really does look a treat.

This month marks the one year anniversary of the Switch 2 on 5/June. It’s been a year of many great games, beyond what arrived on launch. A great new Donkey Kong, the surprising sequel to Kirby Air Ride, and a very beloved Pokémon spin-off in Pokopia. The third party games also delivered, with the likes of Dragon Quest VII Reimagined and Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar. I’ll be talking about some original Switch titles that released across this first year of Switch 2 as well.

On the same day of that anniversary comes Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley’s showcase is sure to provide a lot of new announcements, with a few things already confirmed. Many big hitters, some live music, and a few surprises across the two-hour runtime. I expect there’ll be enough revealed that interests me to get writing about it, as is usually the case with most of the events of the summer festival.

As, along with the main event, there’s many other showcases, too. The Future Games Show Summer Showcase on 6/June is sure to provide a range of announcements big and small. The Xbox Games Showcase on 7/June is lifting the lid on the recently delayed Fable, along with other games of Xbox Game Studios and its partners. And is this the month we get a general Nintendo Direct?

I’m sure there’ll be other articles across the month, as I might delve into another Moonlit Critbit to look back at a franchise or even just a singular entity. There’s also the possibility of sales or demos giving me an interest in something, which I’ll likely be providing thoughts on. All that leading into what should be a great Racing Month in July.
