- October 2026 Monthly Update
October and November are set to be light in terms of articles. I’ve got a certain ten year anniversary next year that I want to celebrate with something big, after all. Meaning most of my attention is going to be on getting Falling From The Truth ready for an April 2027 release. Right on the same day I first published The Alternate Adventures of Halesowen in 2017. Which also marks ten years of something else. DarkRula Media.
Now, yes, I’m not talking about the network in general. I started this entire venture in 2012 under the name of CDSMedia. But, with 2017, the name change signified a desire to push forward. That certainly happened, with five books released to the Kindle Store across three years. A great collection of short stories building on Wattpad. Plenty of articles on games and other media. I want 2027 to be a great celebration of that, but revealing those plans is not for this monthly update.
Articles coming this month include a look at two games that are releasing this month. Coming near the end of the month is Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, bringing a redesigned Wuhu Island with it. Twelve sports are going to be available, with true free roaming available across skateboard, seaplane, and power cruiser for the first time. No time limits on that at last.
Early in the month is Star Wars: Galactic Racer, helmed by a team of former Criterion developers. A Star Wars racing game that uses more than just podracers to depict high-speed circuit races. There’s said to be a lot to this one, with roguelike elements in play to keep replays of the career interesting. Though with many racers to be interacting with between races, it’s sure to be so anyway.
Before my experiences on that comes a look at a series which releases its new collection of games around the same time. I figured with that collection close, and Kingdom Hearts 4 looking to be confirmed a 2027 game, it makes sense to give my history of the series. A history that mostly confines itself to one game. I’ll be getting into the why of that, and how in recent years I’ve finally played everything the collections offered.
Being October, I’d be putting into action one of the Halloween-inspired ideas I keep for the season. This year, I think it’s time I added another story to Trials of Gore Fest. Along with that, I’ve started doing some self-shot stuff in photography, so being the season, I’ll likely try to do a spooky set. Something that I hope will look good when posted on my socials and in the photography section of this site.
