November ’23 Monthly Update

End of October, I suffered two asthma attacks in a 24 hour period, finding myself in A&E because of that. Hence the lateness with this monthly update. However, I’m recovering and hopefully the stronger stuff I’m on can prevent another instance of that. I’m not stopping anything because of it. Just means I’ve got a few more days inside before trying to get active again. As for articles, a lack of new releases that I’m buying isn’t stopping me.

Perhaps the only new release of the month for me is DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing. I have a lot more love for DreamWorks properties than Nickelodeon ones, so I’m sure I’ll be loving this much more than Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3. There’ll certainly be more that I’ll recognise. Even so, it also seems that Bamtang Games have one-upped themselves when it comes to this one. All will be revealed with my thoughts on the game.

The What I’m Waiting For that was meant to come last month is instead coming this one. Again, I won’t say which games will be added to that waiting for list, but they are releasing at some point in the first half of next year. With the last wave of tracks coming for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass this month, I can finally talk about them. And this final wave has some great tracks coming for it.

Nearly everything else is unplanned. I’ve been putting off an article or two looking at VR experiences for a while now, but after almost two years of having a Quest 2, I feel ready to offer thoughts on a purely sitting mode VR experience. Though I’ll likely save that for February, which will mark exactly two years since I started playing around with VR. But there might just be something VR I talk about anyway.

I do want to get a short story out. I’ve been cooking up several ideas but yet to implement one, so this month might just be the one I push something new to Shorts of the Rula. One of those ideas is also something I’ve not really experimented with. That being horror. I might have missed the obvious window for that one, but it’s possible that is the one I go for. Next year I’m planning to make more use of my short story portals on WattPad, with the intention to finish adding to The Alternate Extras of Halesowen ready for when the fourth novel arrives on the Kindle store. More on that next year, too.
