The countdown begins, as there’s now 100 days until The Jingle Jam begins. Two weeks of streams to raise money for various charities from the Yogscast, with many other streamers also joining in on this fun. This year, eight charities will be supported by The Jingle Jam. And what’s interesting is that for the first time since they were part of The Jingle Jam in 2016, the Whale and Dolphin Conservation is not part of them.
The three new charities being supported are Become, Make-A-Wish, and WWF. Starting with Become, this is a charity working to fix the children’s care system of the UK. There are many reasons why a child might be put into care, such as a disability affecting them or their parents, or being neglected at home. Yet the care system can fail them, stunting growth from so much change each year. That is what Become aim to fix, by supporting those who are in care, and raising awareness of the current problems of the system.
Make-A-Wish is a Foundation that helps bring the dreams of children with critical illnesses come true. When all hope feels lost, a dream come true can provide a child with hope. With happiness. An escape from the daily reality of dealing with that critical illness. By providing children with their dream, the Foundation has seen a great positive change in them. While positivity isn’t a magic cure for illness, it does greatly help with mental wellbeing and, as such, keeps a child wanting to enjoy life despite those illnesses.

WWF is all about keeping nature alive. In a world where that nature is being destroyed through increased urbanisation, WWF are wanting to make sustainable solutions to decrease its impact. Many animals and plants are on the brink of extinction from the actions of increased urbanisation. Awareness of what that is doing to our world is just one of the things WWF are about. They’re also working in partnership with various businesses, governments, and local communities to bring the nature back to the world.
There are many harsh realities of this world, where it can sometimes feel like the point of no return is the only way to escape from them. Campaign Against Living Miserably want to make sure no-one feels that way. Through providing resources that help people with support, whether that be community events or offering a guiding hand with their free helpline, CALM is here to show that there are more options that just the irreversible one.
With rights of LGBT+ people being stripped by governments, charities such as The Trevor Project are so important. Young people especially should be free to express who they truly are, rather than hide that in fear of repercussion from those around them. The Trevor Project supports those young people to be who they are, while also pushing for the world to be more accepting of them and get laws passed to help them.
With war shattering the lives of many, War Child want to protect the children that live through those conflicts. Making sure they can be safe, getting the support they need so that they have a future. Helping provide education and therapy for those that need it, and supporting communities so they have life-saving essentials to survive. War Child also raise awareness across the world of the realities children face in conflict zones.

Autism affects many people around the world, with Autistica being one of the leading UK charities supporting those who are autistic. By funding research to understand autism better, it can help those with it to lead happier lives. Allowing them to have access to support spaces, providing health checks to make sure they are coping well, and getting people to better understand those with autism are just some of the goals Autistica are working toward.
And lastly, hospitals need funding to provide care to all. With the Yogscast based in Bristol, it only makes sense for them to support The Grand Appeal. The official charity of Bristol Children’s Hospital. Wanting to ensure children brought there have the best care, no matter when they need it, there’s many new things the money raised through the charity have allowed the hospital to utilise in that care. Which includes the patient hotel known as The Jingle Jam Building.
When 1/December starts, so too does the Yogscast’s two weeks of Jingle Jam streams. The first day always sees the office decoration and warm up streams start things off before the official opening at 17:00, where Lewis and Simon watch the hilarious and downright strange fan-created videos known as Jingle Cats. The first day also provides some chill trains to end the night on with a session on OpenTTD.

Throughout the rest of the two weeks, there’s many games played with various members of the Yogscast taking part. And a few of their friends. After all, RTGame once again invited a few of them to enjoy some of the Wii’s ‘best’ multiplayer experiences. And that is just one of the staple streams across the two weeks. Games of Civilisation, Poker, and Mario Kart being just some. That last one should be interesting with Switch 2 and Mario Kart World now out.
Elsewhere, the various members of the Yogscast join together to play numerous games. Some of which they usually enjoy, such as Minecraft. While others are those of the Jingle Jam Games Collection. As a thank you to those who donate over a certain amount, this collection of games provides people with great experiences away from the streams. I’ve enjoyed the likes of DeathSprint 66 and Thief Simulator from collections of the past. I’m sure this new one will have similar great experiences.
The Jingle Jam has been growing a lot in the last few years. Since the event opened to allow anyone to raise money during the two weeks it runs, loads of streamers have participated. Whether just going with their usual thing or doing a special something just for the event, the exposure it brings to The Jingle Jam has kept the money earnt each year in the millions. Which the charities are very happy to receive each year.
And so there is just 100 days to go until The Jingle Jam kicks off for. Whether you watch the Yogscast or various others who will be taking part in raising money for those eight charities, it’s sure to be a great time. As ever, I’ll likely be watching a few streams of the Yogscast while enjoying the games from the Collection. Making absolutely sure I catch the Feed A Cow For Christmas stream, likely while also playing Farming Simulator.
