At the end of 2024, I reflected on the stories I’d published that year. Saying that in 2025, I wanted to further push the hardest yet with them. So what better way to commit to that than with a plan of exactly what I intend to do for this year. Now, it is the start of the year, so expecting any concrete details would be too much. But I have a general idea of what I will be doing.
Which includes a large focus on Alternate Halesowen and Beyond. Along with getting book 4 of the Kindle series finished, I want to do the same for The Alternate Extras of Halesowen. As mentioned in that stories of 2024 article, it should have been finished a number of years back. So this year, I intend to wrap it up. And then, who knows? There could be a Future Extras of Halesowen providing more stories for this group.
It is my intention to end the stories of the Halesowen College media students with book 4 of the Kindle series. Their focus was very much tied to the two years they spend at the college. No going beyond. That doesn’t mean I can’t use the characters elsewhere, of course. I doubt it’ll be this year, however. 2027 will be ten years of Alternate Halesowen and Beyond, so there’s likely going to be something special there.
As for Alternate Halesowen and Beyond stories featuring in Shorts of the Rula, I’m sure there will be. I’ve focused a bit on Reality Twists stories for the last two years, along with introducing the Zincite Storm universe, so it’s time to return to others. Which does include Stories From the Herzan State. In fact, all the universes will have some focus this year. Except Galaxy of the SRC.
Since Space Race Championship is being republished, I’m treating the universe as though this will be the first time it is being introduced. As such, no shorts. No other stories. I want to let Space Race Championship stand on its own for a while. But I certainly have ideas for new stories in the universe. Including another novel. Or two. One forward in time, one back.
When it comes to short story releases, I only want one a month. So, with six stories of The Alternate Extras of Halesowen to go, that leaves six stories for Shorts of the Rula. I know what character I want to end Alternate Extras on, being one of the three who started it. The secondary group has seen the least amount of focus, so this is where I changed that. Just as Vector thought on his group of friends at the last day of the first year, so will he reflect on their changes on the first day back of the second.
Other stories will include a second perspective of Elizabeth’s birthday meal, something relating to a theme park, and a bit more setting up for the second year of college. It’s going to be a bit of an odd one, as a theme park will likely play into one of the stories of Shorts of the Rula, too. Though that one is going to be on the dramatic side. I’m still developing ideas for the stories of Shorts of the Rula, so I’m not saying anything more for now.
As for those other projects I’ve mentioned before, I feel the one relating to the GRcade AYA Hitman games would be best on Wattpad. Though it will be a completely original story, the anthology format provides the perfect excuse for releasing individual stories to it across the year. I’m thinking five stories is a good number for this. Allowing for the larger stories to be broken up with a few smaller ones.
The other projects include a Power Rangers story on Wattpad, along with novels for both Reality Twists and Stories From the Herzan State universes. All three are still in the concept stages, but I’m starting to settle on plans for two of them. I mentioned these three not because they will see a release in 2025, but also they will. Kind of. Something new will be appearing on Wattpad that these will be a part of.
Back on the old site, I had a section where I would release previews of stories I was testing out. First chapters or short sections of other chapters. It didn’t get a lot of use back then, but I want to return to the idea now that I have quite a few ideas I want to get out. Though Wattpad is my first choice for such, being built with stories in mind, I also feel I could do it on this site. We’ll see.
Lastly, Yogsimulated 2. This is the year. I think I stalled on it as I tried to bring too many of the Yogscast into it. Wanting a focus story for all of them. Across 2024, I was thinking on that. And realised it was asking too much. So the plan is to reduce the number of people, have every story show the perspective of one person of each group, and release it just before Jingle Jam 2025. Let’s see how that works out.
