April is usually Star Wars Month here at DarkRula Media, but it’s not officially happening this year. For one, there’s a lot of non-Star Wars releases coming this month that it doesn’t make sense to ignore them. For two, I’m actually going to be at Star Wars Celebration this year, meaning I’m not going to be covering it as I usually do.
Yup, with Celebration arriving at London, it’s my chance to finally experience it direct at the event. So, for the first week, there’s not going to be anything added to the site. Once back, I’ll have my thoughts on what being at Celebration was like. And whatever me and Hayden get up to on the Saturday away from Celebration. I’ll be looking at things that get announced while there, and will cover things that interest me.
For non-Star Wars content, there’s Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Once and Always, the 30th anniversary special bringing back many of the Rangers from the original series. I’ve been looking forward to this, so I’ll have my thoughts on it when it releases. From what has already been seen, there’s sure to be a lot of nostalgia while also bringing something new.
At actual last, Advance Wars Re-Boot Camp is finally arriving, having been delayed last year. I’ll have an experiences article about this one. Looking at some of my creations, since that’s what I want it most for. Back with the DS Advance Wars games, that’s where most of my playtime went. Oh, I played a bit of the campaigns on them, but I was more interested in the creation side of things. And roleplay. I roleplayed as teams by myself quite a lot back in those days, on anything that allowed turn-based multiplayer.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor looks to be bringing a big update over Fallen Order. New mechanics, new worlds to explore, and more open areas to navigate. With it coming at the end of the month, it’s unlikely I’ll have the review out during this month. Shouldn’t be too far into May for it, though.
And before Celebration, the Super Mario Bros. movie releases. I won’t be seeing it until getting back from Celebration, but I will give some thoughts on it when I have seen it. Chock full of references and even a Mario Kart section that has seen quite a bit of focus in the trailers, this should be a good one.
