Welcome to Star Wars Month, where there’s a few things aside from Celebration I’ll be covering. But, of course, the month doesn’t properly begin until a certain non-Star Wars event is over. That being, on 2/April, the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct. Since its announcement in January, not much has been shown about the new console. This Direct should change that.
What we’re likely to get is an event that covers both hardware and software, showing what we can expect from this new machine when it launches. Likely launch information will be here, too. Price, date, and a few of the games we can expect on the day. Personally, I hope for Mario Kart. Though I could easily expect a Switch situation where it came a month after launch to allow the main single player game Nintendo launches it with to succeed.
As for Star Wars Month, Celebration is happening this year, returning to Japan for the first time in nearly 20 years. Which means I’ll be waking up with each day of Celebration already finished. There’s set to be some announcements coming, such as with the Mandalorian & Grogu film, Ahsoka season two, and the next animated series. There’s a game going to be announced too, with the only things we know being that it’s a turn-based tactics game from Bit Reactor and Respawn.
Along with Celebration, a new season of Andor is coming. The first season was a great one, so the second is sure to be an excellent way to end things in the run up to Rogue One. Of course, I didn’t offer thoughts on the full season one, so that’s happening during this Star Wars Month. Then, once season two starts, I’ll have thoughts on those opening episodes. Which I’m sure places a big emphasis on events that lead to Mon Mothma’s fleeing Coruscant.
This time in the world of Star Wars video games, I’m looking at Battlefront. Elite Squadron to be specific. See, I’ve loved the PSP version since it first released. A great handheld Battlefront that brings new things to the series. And then there was the one on DS, that I always steadfastly refused to admit was a Battlefront game. Well, giving it another chance, I’m at least willing to admit it’s a good game. So, I’m providing thoughts on it, along with the PSP version.
For stories, this month is where I’m advertising Space Race Championship with that preview and something more. Makes sense, what with it being Star Wars Month. Along with the advertising, there’s a new short story coming this month within the Alternate Halesowen and Beyond universe. At the Gamestation in Central City, an event takes place to advertise the next Frontal Assault game.
