December ’24 Monthly Update

The last month of the year brings with it that very special event that happens each year. Jingle Jam! This year looks to be packed with support from loads of streamers, including more big names such as Smosh Games. So, while I’ll be sticking to just the Yogscast for Jingle Jam content, there’s likely to be someone familiar to you being part of the event.

Of course, raising money for eight charities is great. With all this support, I’m sure the event total will be higher than ever. And maybe even beat the ever elusive 2017 total. With that support also comes something back. The Jingle Jam Games Collection might be smaller this year, but it’s said that there’s some big, well known games a part of it. What those are remains a mystery, but you can be sure I’ll be grabbing a few of them and offering my thoughts on them.

During the two weeks Jingle Jam is running for, there’s also a few other things happening. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew premieres on 3/December, with two episodes starting this series off. Much like other series, I’ll be giving thoughts on those opening episodes along with a full series review when it ends in January. It should be a fun one, so I’m hoping these first two episodes can impress.

Go! Go! Power Rangers! It finally happened. A new Power Rangers game is here at last. While it might not be the large action-adventure I was hoping for, Rita’s Rewind is still looking to provide just such a thing with its beat ‘em up gameplay. With a story relating to Once And Always, and what could have happened if the team of the present failed to stop Robo Rita from going back in time.

A new story added to Shorts of the Rula will bring a winter Reality Twists tale for you to read. What reason could someone have to place a map screen in a park when everyone has phones? And what is with the rumours that snow cannot touch it? The answers will be found when Snowfall is added to Shorts of the Rula on Wattpad. At the end of the month, there will also be a look back at the stories that have come this year.

As ever, a look back at games is coming. And one for TV and film. There’s plenty to talk about in both sections. With both media that I’ve covered, and those I haven’t. One such game being Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. I’ve delayed my experiences with that one indefinitely, so the first you’ll see of my thoughts will be in the look back article of 2024. Both of those will be packed with content, though as ever I will be limiting myself with the games one.
