It’s the last month of the year, which means just one thing. Jingle Jam starts today! This great charity event run by the Yogscast and made special by the community that surrounds it has grown over these last few years thanks to opening the fundraising to anyone. This year, so many more big names are joining the fun, spreading awareness of the event and the eight charities being supported further than ever before.
Just like the last few years, I’ll be offering thoughts on some of the games within the Jingle Jam Games Collection. That collection always features a great range of games, yours for a donation of £35 or more. As for the streams that will be going on across the first 14 days of December, I’ll likely just be sticking to the Yogscast as I always do. Though I’ll be sure to highlight others with my end of Jingle Jam article.
As it is nearing the end of the year, it is also time for my look back at the year just gone. Firstly, I’ll be promoting all the short stories I’ve written this year on socials in an event I’m naming the 12 shorts of Christmas. Each even day, a new story will be promoted. Right up to 24/December, where the last will be published. This new addition to Shorts of the Rula will have a Christmassy theme as it’s a party. That’s all I’m saying for now.
Then, after Christmas, the planning of the Q4 stories will be released. A day before New Year’s Eve, the look back at 2025 articles will be published. Like previous years, one will be focused on gaming and one focused on TV & film. Along with featuring my cores, these look backs are a great place for me to offer thoughts on games I haven’t given articles to. So expect the games I missed last month to feature in the gaming one.
And lastly, I’m sure you’ve noticed the photography section this site now holds. A passion of mine, I’ve been considering pushing greatly into the photography space throughout the last year. Last month, I decided to get things ready for next year where I will make a good go of becoming known for photography. Everything else will still stay the same regarding content, however. I’m not dropping either stories or articles for this. It will be the trifecta that I am known for.
The site home page will change up a bit in the new year, with the buttons for paid and free stories becoming banners, along with an introduction to my content being added to it. The new era of DarkRula Media will begin in the new year, which I hope you will join me for.
