February ’22 Monthly Update

As ever, I’m clearly still demotivated to some degree. But as I said last month, I’m hoping to sort that lack of energy out. Even despite that lack of energy, I managed a certain something. If you paid attention to the streams of mine last month, you know that any plans I had for them were scrapped when I got hooked on speedrunning Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

What started as a friendly bit of competition between three of the Yogscast has found more of them getting into it and some even getting close to the top 100. I gave it a shot during that early phase and got hooked myself. Of course, I wanted the evidence, so every time I wanted to run, I did so live. Nearly every time I ran, I beat my previous time. Until… my sinusitis flared up once again and my focus was lost.

While I do intend to run again this month, it will not be every time I stream. The plans I had for last month will take place in this month. That starts with a second visit to Pokémon Legends: Arceus today. I’ve played it for well over 20 hours already, so there’ll be a massive skip in terms of where I left things off from when I was live with it on the GRcade channel.

That ties in with the experiences article I’ll be releasing today. While I could do a review, I felt an experiences article would be better. This is a game where personal experiences are at the fore of it, after all. And that also brings me to a bit of a change in regards to articles. First Impressions are being reserved for demos or early access titles, while everything else goes under experiences. Reviews will be for those games I really want to highlight. The first of those for this year most likely being The Skywalker Saga.

Yes, an overview trailer released, and we’ve got a date for the game. After all the articles I’ve written over the past two years about it, you would have thought I’d instantly be writing one about this new trailer. Well, I had intended to, but it never happened. Needless to say, I’m massively excited about it, and that article I had been planning will come this month.

The other delayed article comes in the form of that Power Rangers concept. I spent so long trying to craft the story of the game that I never wrote about the game itself. But it will be delayed further, as there’s a concept I want to get out before the end of this month. Since it relates to Pokémon. And there’s no doubt going to be a Pokémon Presents near the anniversary. Detailing the possible start of Generation Nine.

I’ve had a few ideas for this next generation across the last year, and through playing Legends: Arceus I feel I’m ready to present a concept of what my Generation Nine would look like. That should be coming very soon. As long as I can hold motivation enough to write it all down. And whatever happens with that Pokémon Presents, I’ll be sure to talk of it.
