A Happy New Year to all. The last year hasn’t been the best, with the negative seeping into every positive event owing to the major pandemic holding the world in its grip. The power it holds will hopefully be lessened, and we can finally feel free once again. It’s been tough for everyone to some extent. My motivation has been all over the place this year, as noted by delayed articles and the website as a whole still needing a few additions and fixes, but it’s still been a great success.
Last year saw a lot of success for the site, with me pushing more articles to it then any previous year – and considering the two largest events I regularly cover were unable to take place, that’s an achievement. I’m not sure I trust the analytics to give an accurate idea of how successful the split from Blogger has been, so this is the year where I will see such.
My Youtube channel has seen growth, however little that has been. The highest number of videos uploaded to it, bringing in almost 200 more views than in 2019, and another three subscribers. But my personal growth in terms of videos will be felt this year. Having gained enough confidence in my voice to want to use it, I jumped on Twitch and started streaming. More on that in a bit, though, as I want to talk of my success on Twitch.
In just a third of a year, I’ve seen 237 unique viewers joining me for some fun, with 43 of those joining further for a bit of a chat. And in just those three months, I’m more than halfway to affiliate. Through starting difficulties as I learned how to set things up right, getting a new microphone and capture card to bring higher quality streams, and then enjoying the time I spend streaming playing around in various games, it’s been a great time and I want to continue. Summer might prove an interesting time and a block to getting live, but I’ll see about figuring that when the time comes.
Thank you to everyone who has been checking out any of the content of mine. It really means a lot. This year I aim to provide plenty more, with more streams, videos, and articles that involve the media that I enjoy. And that all starts with this month and what I have planned.
For articles, I’m looking ahead to what this year will bring in the form of video games. There’s quite a number of them that we know of, after all, and a fair few that I’m personally interested in. There’s also those we sort of know will happen, but not in any detail, such as with Pokémon and Sonic the Hedgehog. And then there’s getting into wishlisting territory. It’ll feature more than ten games, and it’ll be coming within the next few days.
For videos, there’s one coming today. This is what I meant when I talked of growing confidence. No doubt you’ve seen a few videos that bring highlights from Twitch streams to the channel, where my voice and face are seen within them. The one coming today uses both voice and face but is not from a stream. Recorded while the snowfall of Los Santos was still in effect, it showcases three races from other creators, along with the new toy I’d recently bought. Most videos should now be following the stream-style of content even if they weren’t originally from one.
As for streams, a new full playthrough is coming. Sort of. For as much as I enjoy the Kingdom Hearts games, the story isn’t really one of them. Don’t get me wrong, interactions between various characters can be fun, and I do know enough about the events that are happening to sort of follow along. But I’ve always been there for the gameplay and Disney properties. So when I start this full playthrough of Kingdom Hearts 3, don’t be surprised to see me skipping a few cutscenes.
I’m expecting quite a few things to be announced this month, so articles about such information will also be posted if it’s of interest to me. Once again, a Happy New Year to you all, and I hope this year sees plenty of positiveness come your way.
