This month is big for two reasons. The first being Sonic Frontiers – the open world Sonic the Hedgehog game that aims to be the biggest Sonic game we’ve seen. The second being Pokémon Scarlet and Violet – the open world Pokémon game that aims to be the biggest Pokémon game we’ve seen. Each tackle that open world in a different manner, so it will be fun to explore both to see those differences.
Both of those will see an article that should be giving a review of each. I should also be streaming the start of each. Talking of streaming, while I have been returning to it more than I had over the last few months – and still do have an idea of what I want to showcasing in a given month, I won’t be packing these monthly updates full of games that I plan to stream.
For other articles, I’ve played a game that gives me the chance to talk about a series I’ve considered doing so before. Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx is the first game of the series to arrive on console, bringing an action platformer that tells an original story within the world of Ladybug and Cat Noir. As the first console game for the series, it’s not a bad effort. Lacking, but good. More talk of that coming soon.
I’ve also got a concept coming this month. One that looks at a truck driving game I’ve been toying around with since first playing Truck Driver. The premise of that game was being a local truck driver helping out the community, though felt like it was trying to be a small-scale version of the giants of the genre – even if it did have a story to follow. Combined with Truck and Logistics Simulator and a few other ideas, I feel I have a good concept to share.
A new story will come to The Alternate Extras of Halesowen, with the point of view of Oliver being shown. You might remember the last story which put focus on Brandon and his unexpected meeting with Jack. Such a meeting, and the help Jack provided, was to make such a disappearance a bit more personal for Brandon. This next story sees Brandon and Oliver down at London, where after a day away, they see the news of that disappearance.
Though I’ve only mentioned four articles here, the momentum I’ve had for the last two months is something I want to keep, so they definitely won’t be the only ones you see for this month. I’ve got ideas for a few others, but let’s see what the month brings.
