Now that October is here, there’s a bit more content coming to the site than last month. First impressions for Star Wars Squadrons and Watch Dogs Legion (DiRT 5 having been delayed to November), along with an experiences article talking of the RollerCoaster Tycoon series. But I’m not just going to focus on the games this month, as I’ve got another book to talk about. And a comic.
Last month I streamed Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, playing through the story that retold the major event that had been Shattered Grid. Throughout 2018, Shattered Grid was huge, bringing together the entire history of Rangers to face off against an alternate universe Tommy who had remained evil and continued to grow in power. The rightful celebration for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
I’ll be giving my thoughts on that comic once I read through it again, as playing through the story on Battle for the Grid has me wanting to read it again. And doing so and not sharing my thoughts wouldn’t feel right when I’d already talked of it on stream. As for the book I’ll be talking about, it relates to Star Wars, and the sequel trilogy. I’ve already talked of the Revenge of the Sith novelisation, so now I’m tackling the sequels. Can all three of them repeat what that one managed to?
In terms of streams, over the last month I’ve found myself getting a new microphone and fine tuning the quality of it to allow my voice to be louder and clearer with fewer audio interferences from things such as the fan of my laptop or the audio from my TV. Button presses on controllers will still be a thing, simply owing to the proximity between controller and microphone, but I will try to fix such as best as I can.
Over the last month, I’ve also found a schedule that works best for me. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 20:00 BST (soon to be GMT, once the clocks go back). It’s been a lot of fun over this last month streaming some of my favourites (as well as the unknown that had been Mask of Mists), and there’s plenty more to come. The full playthrough of LEGO City Undercover is continuing, I’ll be returning to Super Mario Sunshine, as well as bringing out yet another favourite with Forza Horizon 4.
While I had said videos without commentary would still continue, I think such will be retired except in a few circumstances. Since I am mixing full playthroughs and singular plays, converting those streams down to videos would be best, as it allows a better way of showing my thoughts of them than just a small entry within the description of the video – especially if I don’t feature them in an article.
As ever, there’s always room for more things to come, so keep an eye on Twitter for all new updates. And speaking of, Facebook is now being retired (well, it kind of unofficially was a month or two back) as a place I’ll be posting to. The only social media presence I’ll have will be on Twitter now, though Reddit is also a place I’ll be posting to. It’s always good to focus on a few than dilute yourself with many. Such a change should allow me to focus on slightly differing content across both.
And as you can see, I’ve changed the top banner to provide links to both Twitter and Twitch, as well as my Amazon Author Page. The final few parts of the site should be changed this month, including the pages detailing the timeline of my original works and the current ones. For now, keep an eye on Twitter for all the coming updates on here along with everything else I’m getting up to on there, and make sure to check out my Twitch channel for the latest streams.
