Last month saw a record for number of articles in a month. Helped by Tiny Teams and the five great games I covered during it. I’m not sure I’ll reach double digits again anytime soon, but there’s every possibility it could happen in December when The Jingle Jam brings with it another collection of games for donating to the charities it’s representing. I covered some of the games featured in that collection last year, after all.
As for this month, there are a few key releases I’m going to be looking at. Chief among those is Starfield. This space exploration RPG is the latest from Bethesda, taking the formula from the likes of Skyrim and Fallout, and applying it to a galaxy of opportunities. Early access has already begun for it, which means I can get some thoughts out on it when the game releases on 6/September.
The other big release of the month is The Crew Motorfest on 14/September. I’m not going for the early access for this one, so my thoughts on it will be a few days later. I’ve been looking forward to this one just as much as Starfield, however. The map might not be the entire US like the previous two games, but that just means this recreation of O’ahu will be full of detail to discover when exploring.
There are two indie games I’ve had my eye on since their announcements. The first comes on 8/September. Fae Farm is a fantasy-based life sim, where magic will be discovered to help improve who you want to be. Adventure into the wilds, customise the land you own, and spend time looking after the fields and creatures under your care. A perfect game for me, and one I’m sure I’ll be invested in on the Switch.
The other indie games comes at the end of the month. Paleo Pines is also a life sim with farming elements, but this one takes things to a more prehistoric fantasy. Dinosaurs roam the land. Adventuring beyond the town’s boundaries, you can befriend these dinosaurs to help on your ranch, with each having their own unique skills and preferences. This’ll be another I’m sure I’ll be invested in on the Switch when it arrives 26/September.
I’m sure there’ll be other games I might feature on the site. Those which released earlier in the year and I just never got around to. But the only other certain thing for this month is Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. The 30th season of Power Rangers will be arriving on Netflix 29/September. I’ve been waiting for this since Dino Fury finished last year, with Cosmic Fury continuing the story with a few changes and additions to the team as they set out to stop the reincarnated Lord Zedd once and for all.
With how close it is to the end of the month, it might slip into October. But if I can, I want to watch all ten episodes in just one day. That should then allow a full day to gather my thoughts into writing. Either way, the Cosmic Fury article will be the last thing for this month.
