The trailer we had received for the game last month introduced the idea of the Treasure Hunt and its three stories, along with the name of this region for the generation nine games. Now, with a new trailer, more focus has been given to what those three stories entail.Hunt and its

Now, I had given some speculation last time as to what I expect those other two stories would be, since the Gym challenge was revealed during that last trailer. The second of those stories I speculated as being tied to the school somehow. That is instead true for the third of the stories I’d speculated on, where I wondered if the team didn’t need to be truly evil.

Team Star are a group of rebellious students with camps across the region. Causing trouble across the academy for both teachers and students, we – as a just starting out trainer – will be marching into their camps and giving them a seeing to by beating them all in battle. Using the new feature of auto battles.

Auto battles will see you send out a Pokémon to do battle and not need to control its actions. It’s pretty much real time battling, with you watching what happens while offering vocal support of your battling Pokémon. Or, when out in the wild, you can have it be battling any Pokémon it comes across while you wander off searching for items.

Just what impact this will have for the adventure is yet to be known, but it is certainly a new way of experiencing battles within the main games. And a rather effective and relaxed way to grind, since all you need to do is pay attention to its health while it gains experience from the battles it gets itself into.

The third story you’ll be going on sees the return of special, giant Pokémon from Sun and Moon, but utilised in a different way. Rather than being alternative Gym Leader fights, trainers are instead helping Arven hunt for the Herba Mystica. These rare herbs are guarded by the Titans, as they’re called with these games, so you’ll be hunting them down and doing battle to grab the herbs they protect.

With the open nature of the game, I assume that we’ll get the freedom to pursue whichever titan and Team Star base we want, with each of the two – just like the Gym Challenge – having a final story element to them that must be completed last to end that particular story off.

Along with these three stories, there’s plenty of other adventures to enjoy across the Paldea region. Its open freedom to explore where you want is sure to bring a uniqueness to each player’s journey, whether they head straight to the north, west, or east of the region or stay within the south.

The trailer, as an ending note, had some great music attached to it for the various sections. Music which I’m sure will be in the final game. That victory road remix and what I feel is the Gym Leader battle theme are beauts. Can’t wait to see what other musical delights there are within the game when it releases in November. Just like I can’t wait to get exploring the region. My legion of Eevee will soon be with me.
